Brighton Cricket Club is hosting a Charity Cricket Tournament on Sunday 26 January to raise funds for the Sammy D foundation - and to raise awareness for young people on the impacts of bullying, violence drug and alcohol abuse.
Following the success of the 2024 event, the 2025 day aims to raise $5,000 for the Sammy D foundation and $5,000 for the cricket club.
The senior tournament will be held on the main oval from 10am and feature teams from the cricket and football clubs in a T10 format.
There will be 3 junior tournaments - for boys under-10, for boys under-13 & girls under-15 and boys under-15 players & girls under-18. The junior competitions will be in an exciting Super-8 format with eight players per side from 11am.
Participants are being asked to donate $25 as part of the registration process for both Seniors and Juniors.
A junior blast program for under 8's will also run in the morning for $10 per child. Tickets for this can be purchased on the day.
The day will start at 10am on 26 January at Highet Ave, Hove, and feature senior and junior cricket tournaments on Brighton's three ovals and the adjacent Rugby field, culminating in finals from about 4pm.
A silent auction will be held throughout the day in the clubrooms featuring sought after items including signed guernseys from the Adelaide Crows, Port Adelaide Power and Adelaide Strikers, cricket memorabilia and amazing experience vouchers.
Raffles will also be held throughout the day with a host of great prizes on offer.
There will be fun activities and competitions for young cricketers, a dunk tank, face painter and a bouncy castle.
Food and drinks will be available all day, including a barbecue lunch and dinner upstairs cooked by our caterers Voulas Mediterranean.
We are also looking for donations of prizes for the silent auction and raffles. Please email finance@brightoncricketclub.com.au if you can donate.

We are also looking for volunteers to help out on the day.
Thank you for your support. Together we can make a difference.
