It was a big week of presentation nights at Brighton last week capped off with the senior presentation on Friday.
A Grade skipper Matt McInerney was a runaway winner of both the Bomber Medal and Club Champion awards following a strong season of all-round performances.
Prolific run scorer Steve Marsland was runner-up in the Bomber Medal while Lachy Ash finished third after a breakout season with bat and ball.
The winner of this year’s Ken Moseley Trophy for the most outstanding under-23 player was Max Mathews after the all-rounder made a brilliant transition to senior ranks at Brighton.
The Sid Shepardson Trophy for the most promising young player was awarded to Jack Dermody. Jack played the bulk of his Brighton cricket this summer in the under-17 and under-18 t20 comps but he also played seniors, making his A grade debut at just 16 years old and playing a second A1 match in Round 11.

The highlight of the evening was a special presentation to BCC president Ian Barnes to recognise his 50 years of service to the club. Several of Barnesy’s former teammates were on hand to make presentations and acknowledge his great work over half a century at Brighton.
Ian was also presented with the Brighton Club Person of the Year Award.
Earlier in the week, our secretary Jamie Parish was recognised for his tireless efforts by ATCA, taking out the association’s Administrator of the Year Award at its presentations on Wednesday night.
Leading A grade batter Matt Walmsley-Pace was selected in the ATCA Team of the year.
Congratulations to all the junior and senior trophy winners in 2024-25 and a special congratulations to our Under-14 Brighton Yellow side, which wrapped up the Division 2 Premiership with a Grand Final win against Unley.
